A recurring theme in our work is the relationship between religious communities and the broader society they are part of — how faith communities engage with civic institutions, charitable work, education, and public conversation.
We believe religious communities have historically played, and continue to play, a constructive role in civic life: supporting the vulnerable, contributing to public debate on questions of ethics and meaning, and building relationships across different parts of a community that might not otherwise interact.
At the same time, we recognize that faith communities operate within a pluralistic society alongside many other institutions and viewpoints, and we try to approach this relationship with that reality in mind rather than assuming any one voice speaks for everyone.
OVCO Church & Society tries to be one small, honest contributor to that larger conversation — hosting reflection, sharing resources, and occasionally partnering with other community-minded organizations on shared projects.
